Summary
In Week 4 of 2017, activity at SOS Médecins clinics remained stable across all age groups, except for a moderate increase among adults aged 15 to 74 (+4%).
Among children, visits for gastroenteritis are on the rise (+6%), particularly among children under 2 years of age (+16%). In this age group, visits for vomiting are also on the rise (+25%).
Consultations for infectious conjunctivitis are on the rise among children aged 2 to 14 (+17%).
The proportion of flu-related activity is stable (15% across all ages, compared to 16% in weeks 2 and 3). A moderate increase is observed among adults aged 15 to 74 (+4%, or +308 visits). The other age groups are showing a decrease.
Other winter illnesses (bronchitis, upper respiratory tract infections, digestive disorders, and asthma) are slightly up among adults, with a proportion of coded cases comparable to that of the previous two years, except for bronchitis, which is on the rise.
