Key Points
In Week 04 (January 22–28, 2024), activity at SOS Médecins clinics increased among children (+11%, or +3,612 visits) and remained stable among adults (+2%, or +1,337 visits).
Seasonal respiratory indicators were on the rise among children and declining or stable among adults, with the exception of cases of influenza/flu-like illness, which increased by comparable proportions across all age groups (+23% across all ages, or +3,319 cases). Among children, there was an increase in procedures for upper respiratory tract disorders (+14%, or +2,028 procedures) and acute bronchitis (+10%, or +165 procedures). Among children under 2 years of age, procedures for bronchiolitis were slightly up (+15%, or +39 procedures).
Among other indicators, there was an increase in procedures for viral syndrome across all age groups (+15% across all ages, or +298 procedures). Additionally, there was an increase in procedures for asthma attacks among children (+18%, or +98 procedures) and, to a lesser extent, among adults (+9%, or +70 procedures). This increase was accompanied by a rise in procedures for conjunctivitis and allergies in children (respectively +10%, or +80 procedures, and +14%, or +67 procedures). Among children, following a sharp increase observed in S02, procedures for gastroenteritis and vomiting were down.
Finally, among adults aged 45 and older, an increase in procedures for depressive disorders (+56%, or +31 procedures) was also observed at levels comparable to previous years.
