Summary

In Week 4 (January 21–27, 2019), total activity at SOS Médecins clinics increased among children, particularly those aged 2–14 (+20%, or +4,867 visits).

Influenza was the second most common diagnosis across all age groups and accounted for 18% of total coded cases. Specifically, there was an 81% increase among those under 15 (2,792 additional cases) and a 60% increase among those over 15 (3,464 additional cases). All metropolitan regions are experiencing an epidemic in week 4.

Other seasonal conditions continue to rise across all age groups, notably acute bronchitis (+13%, or +699 cases) and ENT conditions (+18%, or +1,795 cases).

Finally, there was an increase in cases for: - chickenpox among 2- to 14-year-olds (+113%), - viral syndrome among children (+16%) and adults aged 15 to 74 (+13%).
