Summary
In Week 04 (January 20–26), total activity continued to rise among children, particularly those aged 2–14 (+20%, or +5,002 procedures), and remained stable among adults.
Over the past week, the main increases were observed for:
respiratory conditions: influenza/flu-like illness (+78% among children, +58% among adults, or +3,901 visits), bronchitis and ENT conditions (+29% among children, +10% among adults, or +5,317 visits), viral syndrome (+28% among children, or +225 visits), asthma attacks (+13% among children and those aged 15–74, or +110 visits), and to a lesser extent for pneumonia (+28% among children, or +46 visits);
infectious conjunctivitis (+27% among children, or +153 cases) and isolated fever (+11% among 2- to 14-year-olds and 15- to 74-year-olds, or +96 cases).
Regarding influenza, with the exception of Normandy, all metropolitan regions are experiencing an epidemic, and an epidemic is beginning in the French West Indies.
Furthermore, cases of gastroenteritis have decreased across all age groups compared to the previous week, but remain higher than levels seen in the two previous years during this period for adults.
