Summary

In Week 03 (January 13–19), total activity increased by 23% among children, particularly those aged 2–14 (an increase of 5,432 procedures), and decreased by 9% among adults (a decrease of 5,825 procedures).

Over the past week, the main increases were among children:

  • respiratory conditions: influenza/flu-like illness (+110%, or +1,211 visits), bronchitis (+53%, or +537 visits), asthma attacks (+52%, or +145 visits), viral syndrome (+38%, or 221 visits), ENT conditions (+35%, or +3,232 visits), and to a lesser extent pneumonia in 2- to 14-year-olds (+15%) and bronchiolitis in children under 2 (+18%, or +54 visits);

  • isolated fever (+30%, or +198 cases), and conjunctivitis (+24%, or +113 cases).

Consultations for influenza/influenza-like illness are also rising moderately among those aged 15–74 (+10%, or 319 visits). Note that 5 regions are in the epidemic phase for influenza (Île-de-France, PACA, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, Pays-de-la-Loire, Occitanie), while the other eight metropolitan regions are in the pre-epidemic phase. Furthermore, procedures for gastroenteritis among adults decreased by 27% compared to the previous week, but remain significantly higher than those of the two previous years during this period.

  • Among the most common conditions, there was an increase in treatments for trauma among children aged 2–14 (+21%) and adults aged 75 and older (+15%).
