In Week 05 (January 30 to February 5, 2023), total activity at SOS Médecins clinics remained slightly higher among children aged 2 to 14 (+5%, or +1,303 visits) and those aged 15 to 74 (+6%, or +2,939 visits), and remained stable in other age groups.

Medical visits for influenza/flu-like illness rose again for the second consecutive week among those under 15 (+17%, or +449 visits) and among those 15 and older (+24%, or +1,207 visits). This increase is accompanied by a continued moderate rise in other seasonal respiratory conditions, at levels observed in previous years: pneumonia across all ages (+13%), ENT conditions (+7% among children and +10% among those aged 15–74), and bronchitis among those aged 15–74 (+14%). To a lesser extent, procedures for isolated fever (all ages) and asthma attacks (in adults, still at a higher level than in previous years) were also on the rise, as were those for COVID-19 among those aged 15–74 (+15%, or +65 procedures).

Other notable indicators include:

• among children aged 2–14: conjunctivitis (+12%, or +76 cases) and scarlet fever (+14%, or +35 cases) continue to rise;

• among those aged 75 and older, there were some moderate increases with low case numbers (low back pain and urinary tract infection), particularly for deterioration in general health (+20%, or +40 cases),

Finally, among small patient groups, there is also an increase in procedures for anxiety among those under 15 and 65 and older, and for depressive disorders among those aged 45–64 (see: Monthly Mental Health Report).
