SOS Médecins National Newsletter, February 3, 2025
Key Points
In Week 05 (January 27–February 2, 2025), activity at SOS Médecins clinics remained stable for both children (-4%, or 1,500 fewer visits) and adults (-1%, or 791 fewer visits) compared to the previous week.
After several weeks of increases, cases of influenza/flu-like illness are decreasing across all age groups (-9%, or 2,622 fewer cases compared to the previous week). They account for 27% of activity among children (a percentage that remains higher than in the past three years) and 25% among adults.
Consultations for other respiratory conditions are stabilizing (upper respiratory tract diseases, asthma attacks, pneumonia, bronchiolitis) or are decreasing (acute bronchitis, suspected COVID-19) compared to the previous week across all age groups, with the exception of an increase among children under 2 years of age for acute bronchitis (+38%, or +61 cases) and among those aged 15–64 or older for asthma attacks (+9%, or +54 cases).
Among the other indicators monitored, there was an increase in cases among children for conjunctivitis (+25%, or +160 cases), trauma among 2- to 14-year-olds (+8%, or +32 cases), and viral syndrome among children under 2 years of age (+10%, or +11 cases), as well as cases among adults for anxiety (+8%, or +75 cases).
In contrast, the number of cases decreased for gastroenteritis in children (-11%, or -286 cases) and vomiting across all age groups (-16%, or -104 cases).
