Summary
Due to a technical issue that occurred this week, this report will focus solely on the 44 SOS-Médecins associations that submitted data.
In Week 8 of 2017, overall activity at SOS-Médecins associations decreased among children under 15 years of age (-9%) and adults aged 15–74 (-4%), and remained stable among adults aged 75 and older.
Among seasonal conditions, there was an increase in visits for isolated fever among children under 2 years of age (+16%), as well as for asthma among adults aged 75 and older (+8%). The share of activity related to influenza continued to decline across all age groups (-47% across all ages). Consultations for bronchitis, pneumonia, and upper respiratory tract conditions continue to decline, with activity shares comparable to those of the previous two years, except for bronchitis in adults, where the share is lower. The number of consultations for gastroenteritis is stable, but the activity share remains higher than in the previous two years among children under 15.
Among children under 2 years of age, there was an increase in consultations for diarrhea (+22%) and allergies (+14%). A slight increase in consultations for trauma (+7%) and acute abdominal pain (+5%) was noted among children aged 2–14.
Among adults aged 15–74, the number of consultations for anxiety continues to rise (+15%). Among adults aged 75 and older, there has been an increase in consultations for acute abdominal pain (+10%) and deterioration in general health (+7%).
