Activity has returned to a level comparable to that of previous years during this time of year.

Trends in Major ConditionsAs was the case last week, this week saw a notable decline in major conditions across all age groups, particularly regarding influenza and flu-like symptoms.Among children under 15, the decline accelerated this week for ENT conditions such as nasopharyngitis (-21%, -597 visits) and otitis (-24%, -646 visits).

Trends in Seasonal Indicators: Consultations for influenza/flu-like illness show a marked decrease in patient numbers across all age groups (-33%, -3,566 visits). The number of visits has returned to a level equivalent to that of 2013 for the same period and is significantly higher than in 2014. At the regional level, the decline in influenza-related activity is evident in all regions. However, the proportion of influenza-related activity remains at or above 10% of coded visits in most of these regions. Only the Lorraine and Midi-Pyrénées regions have influenza-related activity below 10% this week. Consultations for pneumonia are down across all age groups (-21%, or -179 visits). They remain significantly higher than those observed in the previous two years. Consultations for bronchitis (-20%, -829 visits) and for asthma (-23%, -166 visits) are down across all age groups.Visits for fever alone are stable except among those over 75 years of age (+20%, or +16 visits). Visits for gastroenteritis are stable except among children under 2 years of age (+10%, or +54 visits), with numbers within the expected range for the season. Regional trends show stability in nearly all regions, except in four regions where the proportion of visits related to gastroenteritis is increasing: Brittany, Midi-Pyrénées, Languedoc-Roussillon, and Pays-de-la-Loire.
