SOS Médecins National Newsletter, February 20, 2023

Key Points

  • Due to a labor action by general practitioners, the operations of the SOS Médecins associations were significantly disrupted on February 14, 2023. Consequently, this summary should be interpreted with caution.

  • In Week 7 (February 13–19, 2023), the total activity of SOS Médecins associations and most indicators declined across all age groups, with a more pronounced drop among children: -22% for those aged 2–14, -10% for those under 2, and -10% for those aged 15–74.

  • Activity, however, remained largely stable (-3%) among those aged 75 and older, with a few rare increases observed for the following conditions: suspected COVID-19 (+46%, or +17 cases), influenza (+15%, or +18 cases), pneumonia (+14%, or +31 cases), and urinary tract infection (+8%, or +13 cases).

  • Asthma, upper respiratory tract conditions, and conjunctivitis remain at high levels (among adults, only the first two indicators).
