Summary

During Week 7 (February 12–18, 2018), overall activity at SOS Médecins clinics remained stable among children and increased among adults (+7%, or +3,093 visits).

Consultations for seasonal illnesses were all on the rise among adults. There was an increase in visits for pneumonia (+26%, or +150 visits), bronchitis (+14%, or +390 visits), upper respiratory tract infections (+13%, or +1,084 visits), and the flu (+9%, or +401 visits). Visits for gastroenteritis increased to a lesser extent (+7%, or +226 visits).

Among nonspecific indicators, adults aged 15–74 showed an increase in visits for asthma (+12%), allergies (+9%), and malaise (+29%), the only increase also affecting children aged 2–14.

Among the most common conditions, there was an increase in visits for viral syndrome (+14%, or +92 visits) and a continued rise in chickenpox (+11%, or +39 visits) among children. Among adults, there was an increase in visits for urinary tract infections (+10%, or +124 visits) and general malaise (+13%, or +33 visits), exclusively among those over 75 years of age. Finally, while measles continues to decline among children under 15, it has risen sharply this week among adults.
