Key Points
In Week 06 (February 7–13, 2022), total activity at SOS Médecins clinics declined among those aged 2–14 and 15–74 (-6%, or 3,850 fewer visits) and remained stable among those under 2 and those aged 75 and older.
Cases involving suspected COVID-19 declined for the third consecutive week. In total, 3,530 cases (vs. 5,532 cases in Week 5) were recorded (a decrease of 36% vs. 25% in Week 5 and 18% in Week 4). These procedures are down across all age groups: -37% among children, -36% among those aged 15–74, and -27% among those aged 75 and older. Suspected COVID-19 remains among the most common conditions among children (4th) and adults (3rd). Procedures are down in all regions. Since monitoring began on March 3, 2020, 324,567 medical procedures for suspected COVID-19 have been performed.
Among seasonal indicators, we note an increase in procedures for asthma attacks (+34%, or +93 procedures) and influenza/flu-like illness (+15%, or +148 procedures) among children, with a more pronounced increase among children under 2 years of age for influenza/flu-like illness (+65%), bronchiolitis (+24%, or +46 procedures), and gastroenteritis (+13%, or 94 procedures, while the indicator remained stable among those aged 2–14). Also notable is the increase in procedures for pneumonia (+27%, or +68 procedures) among those aged 2–14 and 15–74.
