Summary
In Week 6 of 2017, all-cause activity at SOS Médecins clinics declined across all age groups. This decline was most pronounced among children aged 2 to 14 (-17%) and less pronounced among children under 2 and adults over 15 (-6%).
The proportion of cases related to influenza continues to decline across all age groups (-42% for all ages).
Other winter illnesses are also declining across all age groups. Their shares of activity are comparable to those of the previous two years, except for consultations for pneumonia, gastroenteritis, and vomiting among children under 15, where they are on the rise.
Among children aged 2 to 14, there is a continued increase in conjunctivitis (+7%) and a decrease in consultations for asthma (-19%). Conversely, among children under two years of age, there is a decrease in consultations for conjunctivitis (-13%) and an increase for asthma (+7%).
Notably, there was an increase in consultations for urinary tract infections among adults aged 15 to 74 (+14%) and for acute abdominal pain among adults over 15 (+7%).
