Key Points
In Week 49 (December 2–8, 2024), activity at SOS Médecins clinics stabilized among children compared to Week 48 (+2%, or +652 visits). Among adults aged 15–74, activity increased by 5% (i.e., +2,473 visits), while it remained stable among those aged 75 and older
Consultations for influenza/flu-like illness are on the rise among both children (+51%, or +766 consultations) and adults (+48%, or +1,664 consultations)
Among adults aged 15–74, the increase in activity is also driven by other respiratory conditions: upper respiratory tract disorders (+10%, or +1,323 visits), acute bronchitis (+9%, or +283 visits), asthma attacks (+14%, or +100 procedures), pneumonia (+11%, or +66 procedures), as well as cough-related conditions (+13%, or +872 procedures). Among people aged 75 and older, the number of procedures also increased for upper respiratory tract conditions (+12%, or +39 procedures) and asthma attacks (+51%, or +22 procedures)
Among children under 2 years of age, the increase in procedures for bronchiolitis continues (+6%, or +34 procedures)
Excluding respiratory conditions, there was an increase in procedures:
Among children under 2 years of age for viral syndrome (+20%, or +19 cases)
Among children aged 2–14 years for conjunctivitis (+20%, or +87 cases), gastroenteritis (+8%, or +126 cases), and vomiting (+55%, or +16 cases)
In adults aged 15–74 for vomiting (+10.5%, or +28 visits) and depressive episodes (+13%, or +27 visits)
