Summary
In Week 51 (December 17–23), total activity at SOS Médecins clinics rose by nearly 6% among children and adults aged 15–74 (+4,206 visits), and by a more significant margin among those aged 75 and older (+18%, or +1,140 visits).
Over the past week, activity related to seasonal illnesses was mostly on the rise. Notable increases in activity include: - influenza and flu-like symptoms across all age groups (+36%, or +748 cases), though at levels lower than the previous two years; - bronchitis (+26%), pneumonia (+20%), and ENT conditions (+10%) among adults. Procedures for bronchitis and ENT conditions are also rising more moderately among children (10% and 7%, respectively), - vomiting (+15%) and allergies (+15%) among those under 15, infectious conjunctivitis (+17%) and malaise (+22.5%) among adults.In contrast, procedures for bronchiolitis among children under 2 years of age have stabilized (+5%, or +48 procedures), at levels comparable to the peaks of the epidemics in the previous two years.
Among the most common conditions, there was an increase in procedures for viral syndrome in children under 15 (+15%) and dental problems in those aged 15–74 (+13%). The most common conditions among those aged 75 and older are all on the rise, particularly for general health deterioration (+27%), low back pain/sciatica (+34%), and urinary tract infections (+33%).
