Overall Activity Trends: The use of SOS Médecins services is on the rise across all age groups except for children aged 2–14, with the number of visits (68,340 for the week) slightly higher than in previous years (2013) during this time of year. The increase is primarily observed on Friday, December 26 (+58% compared to previous Fridays) and Saturday, December 27 (+17%) and particularly affects children under 2 years of age (+15%) and people aged 75 and older (+29%).

Trends in Major ConditionsAmong children under 2 years of age, the most common conditions increased by 12% to 30% and primarily involved ENT issues, bronchitis, and bronchiolitis. Also worth noting is a 21% increase in visits for infectious conjunctivitis (+37 visits). Among children aged 2 to 14, the main conditions are stable or declining, except for visits for asthma (+24%, +83 visits). Among adults, and particularly among those aged 75 and older, the most frequently seen conditions are all on the rise and primarily involve ENT conditions, bronchitis, influenza/flu-like syndrome, pneumonia, and gastroenteritis. Among adults over 75, there is also an increase in consultations for heart failure (+45%, +69 cases) and urinary tract infections (+61%, 71 cases).

Trends in Seasonal IndicatorsAmong children under 2 years of age, the number of visits for bronchiolitis increased by 28% over the past week (i.e., +175 visits). With 802 visits over the past week, national figures are above the 2013 peak. The number of visits continues to rise in all regions except in Île-de-France and the Nord, where the peak was reached in weeks 49 and 51, respectively. The increase in consultations for influenza/influenza-like illness continues among adults only (+40%, or +483 visits). The trend and case numbers (2,259 weekly visits) are at an intermediate level between the last two seasons, both nationally and in all regions. Visits for bronchitis and pneumonia continue to rise by 52% and 54%, respectively, among adults and are increasing moderately among children. The number of visits is higher than in 2012 and 2013, both nationally and regionally. Consultations for asthma are rising across all age groups (+38%, or +313 visits). The level of activity remains significantly higher than in 2012 and 2013 during the same period.Consultations for gastroenteritis are up 28% among adults (+805 visits), up slightly by 12% among children under 2 years of age, and down 24% among children aged 2–14. The seasonal trend is similar to that of 2013 (5,328 weekly visits).
