Summary
In week 50 (December 11–17), total activity at SOS Médecins clinics increased among children (+10%, or +3,088 visits) and among adults (+6%, or +3,001 visits).
Among seasonal illnesses, the following stand out in particular: - the continued rise in consultations for influenza/flu-like illness among children under 15 (+166%, or 1,583 more consultations) and adults (+105%, or 2,203 more consultations). These visits account for approximately 9% of the total coded activity of the SOS Médecins associations (+5% compared to week 49) and follow the same trend as last year, - the increase in visits for bronchitis (+16%, or +862 visits), pneumonia in adults (+25%, or +133 visits) and upper respiratory tract conditions in children under 15 (+7.5%, or +1,127 visits), - the continued rise in consultations for isolated fever in children under 15 (+21%, or +156 visits), - a decrease in consultations for bronchiolitis in children under 2 years of age (-16%) and asthma in children under 15 years of age (-22%). Among adults, consultations for asthma remained stable following the 24% increase observed in week 49.
Among the most frequently encountered conditions at SOS Médecins clinics, excluding seasonal illnesses, we note among children an increase in visits for viral syndrome (+23%, or +184 visits), vomiting (+13%, or +75 visits), and infectious conjunctivitis (+13%, or +78 visits). The most common conditions among adults remained stable or declined in week 50.
