Summary
In week 50 (December 10–16), overall activity at SOS Médecins clinics rose slightly among children (+4%, or 1,233 visits) and remained stable among adults.
Over the past week, there was an increase in activity related to seasonal illnesses, among both adults and children. Key points: - cases of influenza/flu-like illness and pneumonia are on the rise among children (up 58% or 227 cases and up 13% or 40 cases, respectively) and among adults (up 30% or 328 cases and up 16% or 75 cases, respectively); regarding influenza, the observed levels remain well below those of the previous two years, - a moderate increase in procedures for bronchitis across all age groups (+5%, or +119 procedures across all ages) and ENT conditions in adults (+7%, or +714 procedures),
There was also an increase in procedures for infectious conjunctivitis and isolated fever among children (up 13%, or 84 procedures, and up 8%, or 52 procedures, respectively) and adults aged 15–74 (up 8%, or 19 procedures, and up 18%, or 44 procedures, respectively).
