Key Points
In week 47 (November 21–27, 2022), total activity at SOS Médecins clinics continued to rise among children aged 2–14 (+14%, or 3,903 visits) and declined in other age groups.
In the second week after the start of the school year, we note a continued increase in cases of bronchiolitis among children under 2, though less pronounced than in Week 46 (+6%, or +65 visits) and still at levels well above those of previous years. Among children, there was also an increase in visits for ENT conditions (+16%, or 3,078 visits) and bronchitis (+10%, or 217 visits). Across all age groups, there was an increase in cases of influenza/flu-like illness (all ages: +49%, or +702 cases) and asthma (+10%, or +161 cases).
Procedures for suspected COVID-19 are on the rise among children aged 2–14 (+35%, or +140 visits) and among adults aged 75 and older (+21%, or +47 visits).
Among other indicators, the following stand out: among children under 15, an increase in cases of conjunctivitis (+18%, or +156 cases), otitis (+19%, or +1,228 cases), and laryngitis (+9%, or +228 cases); and among people aged 75 and older, an increase in cases of general health deterioration (+14%, or +31 cases).
Due to a technical issue, SOS Médecins medical procedure data for November 28 is unavailable, resulting in an anomaly across all daily charts presented.
