In Week 31 (August 2–8, 2021), total activity at SOS Médecins clinics rose slightly among those aged 75 and older (+7%, or +517 visits); it declined among children (-18%, or -2,721 visits) and remained stable among those aged 15–74. After four consecutive weeks of increases, medical procedures for suspected COVID-19 across all age groups remained stable, as did their share of total activity (2,090 procedures vs. 2,123 in Week 30, a decrease of 2%, and 3.4% vs. 3.3% in Week 30). By age group, these procedures are down among those under 2 years old and those aged 15–74, and up—albeit moderately—among those aged 2–14 (+9%, or +17 procedures) and those aged 75 and older (+53%, or +30 procedures). At the regional level, SOS Médecins medical procedures for suspected COVID-19 are stable or declining in most regions except in Occitanie (+28%, or +46 procedures), Hauts-de-France (+27%, or +42 procedures), Grand-Est (+18%, or +28 procedures), and Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes (+8%, or +23 procedures). Since monitoring began on March 3, 2020, 234,778 medical procedures for suspected COVID-19 have been performed. All seasonal indicators remained stable or declined in week 31 for the second consecutive week, with observed levels comparable to or lower than those of the previous two years. Among the most common conditions, there was an increase in urinary tract infections across all age groups (+10%, or +225 procedures). Most of the most common conditions are on the rise among those aged 75 and older; the main increases are in urinary tract infections and falls (+30% each) as well as acute abdominal pain (+23%).
