SOS Médecins National Newsletter, August 9, 2011

Over the past week, the total volume of activity at SOS Médecins clinics remained stable compared to the previous week (+5%). It increased slightly among those aged 75 and older: +10.1%, an increase typically observed during the summer holidays when emergency care services are less available.

The number of cases involving heat-related conditions (heatstroke, dehydration, fainting) has remained low over the past few days, consistent with the temperatures recorded during this period, which were below seasonal norms across the entire country.

SOS Médecins activity related to diagnoses of fever, allergies, and malaise has stabilized over the past week. The number of cases involving insect bites is higher than last week but remains within the range observed since the start of summer.

No changes were noted in the indicators for gastroenteritis, diarrhea, and abdominal pain over the past week.
