Summary
In Week 31 (July 30–August 5), total activity at SOS Médecins clinics decreased among those under 15, remained stable among those aged 15–74, and increased among those over 75 (+11%, or +808 visits).
This increase mainly concerns heat-related conditions.
This week, the rise in heat-related indicators continues, though at a moderate pace:
hyperthermia and heatstroke among those over 75 (+180%, or +54 visits), among 2- to 14-year-olds (+9%, or +14 visits), and among 15- to 74-year-olds (+21%, or +49 visits),
dehydration (+90%, or +100 visits) and isolated fever (+12%, or +13 visits) among those over 75,
fainting spells among those aged 2–14 (+57%, or +8 visits) and those over 75 (+16%, or +14 visits).
Among other seasonal conditions, there was also an increase in visits for chickenpox among those aged 15–74 (+107%, or +14 visits).
Most of the most common conditions are on the rise among those over 75, with an increase in visits for general health deterioration (+28%, or +110 visits) and urinary tract infections (+16%, or +45 visits).
Finally, while numbers remain moderate, visits for burns (+40%) and viral meningitis (+28%) in children, and allergies (+7%) in adults are on the rise.
