SOS Médecins National Newsletter, August 28, 2017
Summary
In week 34 (August 21–27, 2017), following an increase in activity in week 33 (the weekend of August 15), total activity at SOS Médecins clinics declined (-12%) across all age groups.
Consultations for seasonal conditions were stable or down, with the exception of: - among children aged 2–14: for isolated fever (+16%), malaise (+114%, or +8 cases), and conditions directly related to heat (+50%, or +6 cases), - among adults: for malaise (+26%) among those aged 15–74 and for isolated fever (+9%) among those aged 75 and older. The proportion of seasonal conditions in total activity is comparable to that of the previous two years.
Most of the conditions most frequently seen in consultations are declining, with the exception of consultations for gastroenteritis, which are on the rise among children aged 2–14 and, to a lesser extent, among adults aged 15–74 (respectively +8% and +2%); also worth noting is a rise in consultations for viral syndrome (+7%) and trauma (+6%) among children aged 2–14.
