Summary
During week 32 (August 7–13, 2017), total activity at SOS Médecins clinics decreased by 10% among children under 15, remained stable among adults aged 15–74, and increased by 4.6% among those aged 75 and older.
Consultations for most seasonal conditions decreased over the past week across all age groups, with the exception of: - consultations for asthma attacks among adults (up 26%) and among children under 2 years of age (small sample size), - consultations for burns in children (+56%, or +9 cases, small sample size). The proportion of seasonal conditions in total activity is comparable to that of the previous two years.
The most frequently seen conditions in consultations over the past week are all down among children under 15, with the exception of consultations for gastroenteritis in children under 2 years of age (+18%). Among adults, there was an 18% increase in visits for bronchitis. Visits among adults over 75 also increased for various cardiac conditions (+37%), urinary tract infections (+14%), acute abdominal pain (+12%), and pneumonia (+10%).
