Summary

  • During week 32 (August 7–13, 2017), total activity at SOS Médecins clinics decreased by 10% among children under 15, remained stable among adults aged 15–74, and increased by 4.6% among those aged 75 and older.

  • Consultations for most seasonal conditions decreased over the past week across all age groups, with the exception of: - consultations for asthma attacks among adults (up 26%) and among children under 2 years of age (small sample size), - consultations for burns in children (+56%, or +9 cases, small sample size). The proportion of seasonal conditions in total activity is comparable to that of the previous two years.

  • The most frequently seen conditions in consultations over the past week are all down among children under 15, with the exception of consultations for gastroenteritis in children under 2 years of age (+18%). Among adults, there was an 18% increase in visits for bronchitis. Visits among adults over 75 also increased for various cardiac conditions (+37%), urinary tract infections (+14%), acute abdominal pain (+12%), and pneumonia (+10%).
