Key Points
In week 32 (August 5–11, 2024), activity at SOS Médecins clinics declined among children and remained stable among adults.
Most seasonal indicators are stable or declining across all age groups, with the exception of procedures for suspected COVID-19 (+18%, or +20 procedures) among those under 15, and bronchitis (+7%, or +14 procedures) among those aged 75 and older.
Among other indicators, the following are observed:
Among children under 2 years of age, an increase in procedures for diarrhea (+15%, or +12 procedures) and for various dental/ENT conditions (+10%, or +8 procedures). Among those aged 2–14, an increase in procedures for impetigo (+16%, or +45 procedures) and for vomiting (+24%, or +31 procedures).
Among adults, an increase in visits for acute abdominal pain (+8%, or +109 visits), an increase in cases for isolated fever (+18%, or +45 cases) among those aged 15–74, and an increase in cases for trauma (+21%, or +106 cases), for urinary tract infections (+12%, or +35 cases), and for deaths (+10%, or +29 cases) among those aged 75 and older.
In addition, SOS Médecins calls for depressive episodes (+23%, or +22 calls) are on the rise among people aged 45 and older.
