Summary

In Week 17 (April 22–28, 2019), total SOS Médecins activity increased among those aged 15–74 (+5%, or +1,992 cases). It decreased by 4% among those under 15 (or -873 cases) and remained stable among those aged 75 and older.

Over the past week, in line with the spring season, there was an increase in cases of insect bites (+52%, or +68 cases) among those aged 15–74 and in cases of chickenpox among children under 2 (+9%, or +19 cases) and among those aged 15–74 (+128%, or 32 cases). We also note an increase in cases of allergies (+17%, or +23 cases) among children under 2 years of age, general malaise (+10%, or +22 cases), meningitis (in small numbers) among those aged 15–74, and dehydration across all age groups (+40%, or +21 cases).

Among the most common procedures, increases were observed: - for diarrhea (+21%) and viral syndrome (+16%) in children under 2 years of age; - for acute abdominal pain in children aged 2–14 (+18%) and in those aged 15–74 (+9%); - for urinary tract infections (+15%) and low back pain (+11%) in those over 15 years of age; - for deaths (+9%) and various heart conditions in those over 75 years of age (+24%).
