Summary

In Week 17 (April 20–26, 2020), there was a decrease in total SOS Médecins activity across all age groups (-9%, or 4,173 fewer visits).

Cases involving suspected COVID-19 have been declining for four weeks; during the past week, 2,593 cases across all age groups were recorded, representing a 30% decrease (-1,106 cases). These cases account for 6% of total activity (vs. 9% in Week 16) and remain the second most common diagnosis among adults. By region, the highest number of COVID-19 procedures were recorded in Île-de-France (20%), Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes (14%), Nouvelle-Aquitaine (12%), Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur (12%), and Grand Est (11%).
Since the start of surveillance, 44,180 procedures for suspected COVID-19 have been performed.

Most other indicators are declining. Among the procedures showing an increase are those for isolated fever (+10%), gastrointestinal disorders (+15%) and trauma (+6%) among those under 15, isolated fever (+10%) and low back pain/sciatica (+8%) among those aged 15–44, and deterioration in general health (+7%) among those aged 75 and older.
