Key Points

  • In Week 16 (April 15–21, 2024), the second week of the Easter school break, activity at SOS Médecins clinics declined among children aged 2–14 (-8%, or 1,932 fewer visits) and remained stable in other age groups.

  • Cases related to chickenpox decreased among children under 15 (-16%), as did cases of viral meningitis (-60%). The number of measles cases decreased compared to last week (7 cases versus 17), including 3 cases among children under 15.

  • Procedures related to asthma attacks are on the rise among those under 15 (+6%, or +31 procedures), as well as for various dermatological conditions (+9%, or 11 procedures) and for allergies among those under 2 (+9%, or 10 procedures). Among those aged 15–74, there was an increase in procedures for urinary tract infections (+15%, or +225 procedures) and various dental/ENT conditions (+7%, or +97 procedures).

  • Most seasonal winter indicators show a downward trend or stability across all age groups. However, compared to the previous week, there was an increase in procedures for acute bronchitis (+6%, or 223 procedures) among those under 75, as well as procedures for pneumonia (+7%, or 25 procedures) and upper respiratory tract conditions (+10%, or 32 procedures) among those 75 and older.
