Summary
In Week 15 (April 12–18, 2021), total activity at SOS Médecins clinics declined sharply among children (-38%, or 8,152 fewer visits) and more moderately among adults (-8%, or 4,164 fewer visits).
In Week 15, medical procedures for suspected COVID-19 across all age groups declined for the second consecutive week. In total, 2,868 cases were recorded (vs. 3,666 cases in Week 14; a decrease of 22%), and the share of total activity across all age groups remained stable at 4.9% (versus 5.2% in Week 14). There was a sharp decline among children (-40%, or -151 procedures) and a more moderate decline among adults (-18%, or -634 procedures). Suspected COVID-19 is the third most common diagnosis among those aged 15–74. At the regional level, medical procedures for suspected COVID-19 are declining in all regions. Since monitoring began on March 3, 2020, 208,504 procedures for suspected COVID-19 have been performed.
Among other indicators, there has been a marked decline in most indicators across all age groups, with the exception of trauma (+26%, or +77 cases) and cases involving abdominal pain (+14%, or +31 cases) among 2- to 14-year-olds, and among adults, cases of fainting (+24%, or +72 cases) and anxiety (+5%, or +61 cases) among those aged 15–74, and cases of asthma attacks (+28%, or +10 cases) and falls (13%, or +25 cases) among those aged 75 and older.
