Key Points
In Week 15 (April 10–16, 2023), activity at SOS Médecins clinics increased among children under 2 years of age (+10%, or +714 visits) and adults (+5%, or +2,539 visits, with a slightly more pronounced increase among those aged 75 and older) and remained stable among children aged 2–14.
All respiratory indicators are on the rise again. The main increase concerns cases of acute bronchitis observed across all age groups (+19%, or +546 cases), as well as cases of pneumonia to a lesser extent (+9%, or +64 cases across all ages). The other respiratory indicators on the rise mainly concern children under 2 and those aged 75 and older: ENT conditions, which remain at a high level (up 10% and 14%, respectively), asthma attacks (up 13% and 21%, respectively), influenza/flu-like illness (up 20% among those aged 75 and older only), and bronchiolitis (up 20% among children under 2). After a week of decline, procedures for suspected COVID-19 are on the rise again among children under 2 years of age (+100%, or +22 procedures) and adults (+20%, or +289 procedures).
Excluding respiratory conditions, an increase in cases is observed:
still among children under 2 and adults aged 75 or older for gastroenteritis (+9% and +43%, or +42 and +44 cases, respectively), isolated fever (+11% and +29%, or +24 and +19 cases, respectively) and allergies (+10% and +26%, or +15 and +15 cases, respectively), though in smaller numbers;
among adults for infectious conjunctivitis (+26%, or +181 cases), which remains at a high level, and among those aged 75 and older for deaths (+11%, or +37 cases).
Regarding mental health, there was an increase in procedures among those aged 45 and older for depressive disorders (+47%, or +32 procedures) and anxiety (+12%, or +44 procedures).
