In Week 15 (April 8–14, 2024), the first week of the Easter school break, activity at SOS Médecins clinics declined across all age groups (-9%, or 8,625 fewer visits).
Cases related to chickenpox among children under 15 are on the rise (+13%). Cases of viral meningitis have increased slightly among those under 15 (10 cases versus 7 cases last week), exceeding figures from the same period in previous years. The number of cases of measles has increased compared to last week (21 cases versus 10), primarily among children under 15 (17 cases).
In connection with school holidays, trauma cases are slightly up across all age groups (+5%). Cases related to asthma attacks are down among those under 15 (-21%) and those over 15 (-17%), but cases related to allergies are on the rise in both age groups (up 3% and 19%, respectively).
Winter seasonal indicators are down across all age groups, whether for suspected COVID-19 infection (among those under 15: -38%; among those over 15: -28%), influenza/flu-like illness (-25%; -22%), acute bronchitis (-23%; -7%), or pneumonia (-23%; -14%). Only pneumonia cases remain significantly higher than in previous years.
