Summary
In Week 15 (April 6–12, 2020), for the second consecutive week, total activity at SOS Médecins clinics remained stable among those aged 65 and older and declined in other age groups.
Over the past week, cases involving suspected COVID-19 continued to decline for the second consecutive week. A total of 5,243 cases across all age groups were recorded (-40%, or 3,532 fewer cases), representing 13% of total activity. However, these cases represent the primary diagnosis among those aged 15 and older. The majority of cases were recorded in Île-de-France (25%), Grand-Est (13%), Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes (13%), Nouvelle-Aquitaine (11%), and PACA (11%). Since the start of surveillance, 37,962 cases involving suspected COVID-19 have been recorded.
Among the other conditions monitored during the COVID-19 epidemic, there was a moderate increase in the number of cases for isolated fever among those under 15 years of age (+32%, or +97 cases) and for heart failure among those 65 years of age or older (+17%, or +30 cases).
Finally, various increases were observed among the 10 most common conditions, notably for trauma (+11%) and allergies (+27%) across all ages, for low back pain (+13%), urinary tract infections (+10%) and acute abdominal pain (+17%) among those aged 15 and older, and for general health deterioration among those aged 65 and older (+19%). Procedures for anxiety decreased by 18% among those aged 15–64.
