Key Points
In Week 39 (September 22–28, 2025), the number of emergency department visits and hospitalizations remained stable across all age groups.
Visits related to respiratory indicators continued to rise. Notable increases were observed for:
ENT conditions among children under 2 years of age (+5%, or +224 visits), and among those aged 75 and older (+18%, or +26 visits)
asthma in those aged 15 and older (+7%, or +104 visits)
pneumonia in those aged 75 and older (+12%, or +240 visits)
suspected COVID-19 infection, with numbers comparable to the previous year, among those aged 75 and older (+24%, or +30 visits)
cough in all age groups (+13%, or +202 visits)
Regarding digestive disorders, there was an increase in visits for:
abdominal pain in children under 2 years of age (+10%, or +57 visits)
vomiting among those aged 2–14 (+6%, or +38 visits)
Among other indicators, there was an increase in visits for suicidal behavior among children under 15 (+12%, or +22 visits) and among those aged 65 and older (+8%, or +12 visits). Among children aged 2–14, there was a slight increase in visits for chickenpox (+25%, or +15 visits), though the sample size was small. There was also an increase in conjunctivitis among those aged 2–14 (+10%, or +14 visits) and among those aged 75 and older (+16%, or +8 visits), in small sample sizes. Finally, among those aged 75 and older, there was an increase in visits for urinary tract infections (+9%, or +140 visits).
