Summary
In week 42 (October 15–21), total activity and hospitalizations following emergency department visits rose slightly among children under 2 years of age (+3.4%, or +751 visits and +99 hospitalizations). They remained stable or declined among children aged 2–14 and among adults.
Analysis of non-specific and seasonal indicators for the past week shows: - An increase in respiratory conditions among children under 2 years of age (bronchiolitis: +14%, bronchitis: +27%, pneumonia: +15.5%), with the proportion of cases following the trend observed in the previous two years, - An increase in non-specific conditions among 2- to 14-year-olds (malaise: +20%, isolated fever: +11%, vomiting: +9%), - Stable indicators among adults, with the exception of an increase in visits due to vomiting (+11%) among 15- to 74-year-olds.
