Summary

  • During week 44 (October 30–November 5, 2017), all-cause activity and hospitalizations following outpatient visits remained stable among children under 2 years of age and decreased among those aged 2–14 years (–5.6% and –8.6%, respectively). Activity remained stable among adults.

  • Seasonal conditions are declining or stable among children, with the exception of visits for bronchiolitis (+18%, or +322 visits) and gastroenteritis (+6%, or +67 visits) among children under 2 years of age.Among adults, there was an increase in visits for acute bronchitis (+15%, or +174 visits) and ENT conditions (+6.6%, or +203 visits), and to a lesser extent, for asthma (+4.6%, or +44 visits) and conjunctivitis (+9.2%, or +66 visits).

  • Apart from seasonal conditions, among the most common conditions, there was an increase in visits for burns among children under 2 years of age (+35.5%, or +70 visits), as well as for skin and subcutaneous infections among adults aged 15–74 (+6%, or +202 visits).
