Summary
In Week 45 (November 5–11), the first week after the All Saints’ Day holiday, total activity and hospitalizations following emergency department visits increased among children aged 2 to 14 (+25.7%, or +11,106 visits and +502 hospitalizations) and, to a lesser extent, among adults aged 15–74 (+4.6%, or +9,459 visits and +1,387 hospitalizations). They are stable or declining in other age groups.
Analysis of indicators for the past week shows: - an increase in visits for asthma and trauma among children aged 2–14 (respectively +13.5% and +51%, or +138 and +6,338 visits), malaise among children under 15 years old (+39%, or +176 visits) and among adults aged 15–74 (+17.5%, or +779 visits). These trends are likely related to the resumption of school activities,- an increase in visits for vomiting among children under 15 (+9%, or 91 visits) and abdominal pain among 2- to 14-year-olds (+36.3%, or 605 visits), while visits for gastroenteritis remained stable, - an increase in anxiety disorders among adults aged 15–74 (+24%).
