Summary

  • Emergency room visits are on the rise among adults and, to a lesser extent, among children under 2 years of age, while they are declining among children aged 2–14. Hospitalizations following emergency room visits are stable or declining, particularly among children.

  • Among seasonal indicators, there has been an increase in visits for gastroenteritis and allergies across all age groups, as well as for asthma and bites/contact with venomous animals among adults. These last two indicators are declining among children.

  • Emergency room visits for viral meningitis have decreased over the past week; the peak of the outbreak appears to have passed.
