Summary
Emergency room visits and hospitalizations from all causes are on the rise among children aged 2 to 14 in connection with the resumption of school (+8%), while they are declining in other age groups.
Visits for influenza/flu-like illness are down among adults aged 75 and older (-30%) and stable among children under 15. Among the latter, the number of hospitalizations for influenza is increasing (+19%) in a small population and decreasing among adults over 15 years of age (-30%). Across all age groups, the proportion of cases is higher than in the previous two years.
All seasonal indicators are declining among children and adults. The activity rates for isolated fever, bronchitis, and pneumonia are higher than in the previous two years among adults over 15 years of age.
Emergency room visits and hospitalizations for bronchiolitis among children under two years of age have decreased significantly over the past week.
