Key Points
In Week 06 (February 5–11, 2024), emergency department visits and subsequent hospitalizations remained stable across all age groups. The monitored indicators are generally stable compared to the previous week.
Seasonal respiratory indicators show a decline across all age groups. Visits for suspected COVID-19 infection are down among those under 15 (-27%) and among those 15 and older (-17%).
For the first week since the start of the epidemic, visits for influenza/flu-like illness are down, both among those under 15 (-14%) and among those 15 and older (-10%).
Visits for acute bronchitis are higher than in previous years and are decreasing among those under 15 (-7%) and stable among those 15 and older.
The number of visits for pneumonia remains significantly higher than in previous years across all age groups and is stable compared to the previous week. However, an increase is noted among those under 2 years of age (+20%).
Among other indicators, there is an increase in vomiting among those aged 15 and older (+9%), as well as an increase in visits among those aged 15 and older for chest pain (+6%) and dyspnea/respiratory failure (+6%).
