Key Points

In week 06 (February 2–8, 2026), the number of emergency department visits and hospitalizations following such visits remained stable across all age groups.

Among children under 2 years of age, hospitalizations were down (-7%, or -276 hospitalizations). Emergency department visits for respiratory conditions were stable or declining across all age groups.

However, there was an increase in visits for coughs among children (+8%, or +78 visits), for ENT conditions among children under 2 years of age (+5%, or +203 visits), and among those aged 75 and older (+31%, or +45 visits). The levels observed are comparable to those of previous years. There was an increase in visits for suicidal behavior among those under 15 years of age (+19%, or +36 visits) and among those aged 15–44 (+10%, or +101 visits).

Finally, among other indicators, there was an increase in visits for:

  • trauma among those aged 2–14 (+5%, or 1,049 visits) and among those aged 15–74 (+5%, or 2,697 visits);

  • stroke among those aged 75 and older (+6%, or +104 visits)

  • conjunctivitis in all age groups (+12%, or +95 visits);

  • gastroenteritis among those aged 15–74 (+5%, or 74 more visits).
