Key Points

In Week 14 (March 30–April 5, 2026), the number of emergency department visits increased by 6% among people aged 75 and older (i.e., +3,708 visits) and remained stable in other age groups. Hospitalizations following emergency department visits were stable across all age groups.

Among those under 15, the increase in visits for ENT infections (+6%, or +540 visits) and for gastroenteritis (+9%, or +324 visits) continues, with numbers remaining at levels comparable to previous years.

There was also an increase in visits:

  • among children under 2 years of age for asthma attacks (+8%, or +59 visits) and urinary tract infections (+12%, or +33 visits).

  • Among those aged 75 and older, for general malaise (+12%, or +504 visits), stroke (+7%, or +114 visits), urinary tract infections (+6%, or +89 visits), and to a lesser extent for isolated fever (+8%, or +27 visits) and allergies (+21%, or +22 visits).
