Summary

  • Emergency room visits and hospitalizations for all causes remain stable across all age groups.

  • Among seasonal conditions, there was an increase in cases of pneumonia (+13%) among children under 2 years of age. Among children aged 2–14, there was an increase in visits for ENT conditions (+10%), isolated fever (+15%), and general malaise (+10%). Among adults, there was an increase in visits for asthma (+18%) and isolated fever (+8%) among those aged 15–74. Gastroenteritis continued to decline across all age groups. The proportions of activity for the various conditions were comparable to those observed in the previous two years.

  • Among the most frequently seen conditions in emergency departments, there was a slight increase in visits for trauma and for abdominal pain and conjunctivitis among children under 2 years of age.
