Summary
Emergency room visits and hospitalizations for all causes remain stable across all age groups.
Among seasonal conditions, there was an increase in cases of pneumonia (+13%) among children under 2 years of age. Among children aged 2–14, there was an increase in visits for ENT conditions (+10%), isolated fever (+15%), and general malaise (+10%). Among adults, there was an increase in visits for asthma (+18%) and isolated fever (+8%) among those aged 15–74. Gastroenteritis continued to decline across all age groups. The proportions of activity for the various conditions were comparable to those observed in the previous two years.
Among the most frequently seen conditions in emergency departments, there was a slight increase in visits for trauma and for abdominal pain and conjunctivitis among children under 2 years of age.
