Key Points

  • In Week 14 (April 3–9, 2023), emergency department visits and hospitalizations following such visits remained stable across all age groups.

  • Most indicators were stable or declining among children and adults aged 15–74. Among people aged 75 and older, however, there were some increases in small numbers (increases of around +30 visits): ENT conditions (+24%), suicidal attempts (+18%), gastroenteritis (+14%), isolated fever (+12%), and viral meningitis with 5 visits in S14 (vs. between 0 and 1 visit in S11 to S13).

  • In other age groups, the number of visits for conjunctivitis continued to rise, with a 26% increase among children under 2 and a 6% increase among those aged 15–74 (50 and 43 visits, respectively), remaining at levels higher than in previous years.
