Key Points
In Week 14 (April 3–9, 2023), emergency department visits and hospitalizations following such visits remained stable across all age groups.
Most indicators were stable or declining among children and adults aged 15–74. Among people aged 75 and older, however, there were some increases in small numbers (increases of around +30 visits): ENT conditions (+24%), suicidal attempts (+18%), gastroenteritis (+14%), isolated fever (+12%), and viral meningitis with 5 visits in S14 (vs. between 0 and 1 visit in S11 to S13).
In other age groups, the number of visits for conjunctivitis continued to rise, with a 26% increase among children under 2 and a 6% increase among those aged 15–74 (50 and 43 visits, respectively), remaining at levels higher than in previous years.
