Data on emergency department visits from the OSCOUR® network:
Among children, there has been an increase in visits for mood disorders (+17%, or +22 visits), suicidal acts (+16%, or +22 visits), and anxiety disorders (+10%, or +24 visits). The observed levels remain high and higher than those in 2019 and 2020 but slightly lower than those in 2021.
Among adults (ages 15 and older), visits for mood disorders, suicidal acts, and anxiety disorders are stable or declining. The observed levels are comparable to those of previous years for all indicators, with the exception of visits for mood disorders among those aged 15–44, which are higher.
Medical procedure data from the SOS Médecins associations:
Among children, medical procedures for anxiety, depressive states, and behavioral disorders are within the fluctuation ranges observed since the beginning of the year. There is a slight increase in procedures for anxiety (28 procedures vs. 23 in H1 2019 and 15 in H1 2018). The levels observed for these three indicators are comparable to those of previous years.
Among adults (aged 15 and older), there has been an increase in cases involving depressive states (+23%, or +19 cases) and anxiety (+20%, or +87 cases) among those aged 15–44. In other age groups, case numbers are stable or declining. Procedures for behavioral disorders are also stable. The levels observed for these indicators remain comparable to or even lower than those of previous years.
