Health Surveillance of Mortality. Weekly Update, April 7, 2015.
Summary
During the last two weeks of March, mortality recorded by participating civil registry offices (accounting for 70% of national mortality) returned to its usual fluctuations, with figures close to expected values for both all ages and by age group (Figures 1 through 4).Over the first 13 weeks of 2015, winter mortality was 15% higher than the expected mortality calculated based on the previous 8 years, representing an estimated excess of 14,900 deaths. This estimate should be interpreted with caution, as data for the most recent weeks are not yet fully consolidated due to reporting delays.Electronically certified mortality remained stable during week 14 (March 30–April 5, 2015) compared to the previous three weeks.
