Health Surveillance of Mortality. Weekly Update, April 14, 2015.
Summary
During the last week of March and the first week of April, mortality recorded at participating civil registry offices (accounting for 70% of national mortality) tended to return to normal fluctuations, with figures remaining high but close to expected values, both across all ages and by age group (Figures 1 through 4).Over the first 14 weeks of 2015, winter mortality was 14% higher than the expected mortality calculated based on the previous 8 years, representing an estimated excess of 15,120 deaths. This estimate should be treated with caution, as data for the most recent weeks are not yet fully consolidated due to reporting delays.Electronically certified mortality decreased during week 15 (April 6–12, 2015) compared to the previous three weeks.
