Ongoing nationwide outbreak of Salmonella Agona linked to infant milk products distributed internationally, France, December 2017

On December 1, 2017, an outbreak of Salmonella Agona infections among infants was identified in France. To date, 37 cases (median age: 4 months) and two additional international cases have been confirmed. Five different infant milk products manufactured at a single facility were implicated. On December 2 and 10, the company recalled the implicated products; on December 22, all products processed at the facility since February 2017. Trace-forward investigations indicated that the products had been distributed to 66 countries.
