Key Points

  • Relatively high vaccination coverage among infants born in 2018 or later, who are subject to the expanded vaccination mandate, but still below the 95% target:

    • hexavalent vaccine at 21 months: 91% (equivalent to the national level);

    • pneumococcal vaccine at 21 months: 91% (equivalent to the national level);

    • Second dose of the MMR vaccine at 33 months: 82% (-4 percentage points compared to the national average);

    • Meningococcal C vaccine at 21 months: 87% (4 percentage points below the national level).

  • Vaccination coverage of at least one dose against meningococcal B at 8 months is 48% (49% nationally).

  • Significant increase between 2015 and 2022 for the meningococcal C vaccine in children over 2 years of age, but insufficient to achieve herd immunity.

  • HPV vaccination coverage is low and below the national level for both girls and boys:

    • young girls: 41% at age 15 (1 dose) and 30% at age 16 (2 doses) (7 and 11 percentage points below the national level, respectively);

    • young boys: 6% at age 15 (1 dose) and 4% at age 16 (2 doses) (12 and 4 percentage points below the national level, respectively).

  • Insufficient influenza vaccination coverage among individuals with risk factors for influenza (46%, compared to the target of 75%).

Overall, although vaccination coverage is increasing in Corsica, it remains lower than the national average.
