Bronchiolitis

Outbreak over. Three emergency department visits for bronchiolitis were recorded in Week 7, representing 3.8% of all emergency department visits by children under 2 years of age—an increase from the previous week (1.7%)—but numbers remain low. Two hospitalizations were recorded in Week 7 (vs. 1 the previous week). Three consultations for bronchiolitis were conducted by SOS Médecins in Week 7, representing 4.4% of all consultations for children under 2 years of age. Activity is decreasing compared to the previous week (8.8%).

Flu

Pre-epidemic phase. Twelve visits related to flu-like illness were recorded in the emergency department in Week 07, representing 0.8% of all emergency department visits, stable compared to the previous week (0.7%). No hospitalizations were recorded in Week 7, compared to 4 the previous week. Two hundred forty-four consultations for flu-like symptoms were conducted by SOS Médecins in Week 7, representing 18.6% of total activity, an increase compared to the previous week (12.2%).

Gastroenteritis

Low activity. Emergency department activity related to gastroenteritis in Week 07 increased compared to the previous week. It accounted for 1.4% of emergency department activity (0.8% the previous week). SOS Médecins’ activity related to gastroenteritis in Week 7 increased compared to the previous week. It accounted for 2.7% of the organization’s total activity (0.8% the previous week).
