Surveillance of Chikungunya, Dengue, and Zika in Occitanie. Update as of June 2, 2023.

Key Points

From May 1 to November 30 each year, Santé publique France coordinates, in conjunction with the relevant Regional Health Agencies (ARS), enhanced seasonal surveillance of chikungunya, dengue, and Zika in mainland France.

In Occitanie, since May 1, 2023, five imported cases of dengue have been confirmed: the individuals involved had returned from Martinique (2), Brazil (1), Mexico (1), and the Seychelles (1). No cases of chikungunya or Zika have been identified.

To limit the risk of local transmission, six entomological surveys and five vector control treatments were carried out in the vicinity of these cases.

Nationwide, from May 1 to June 2, 2023, the following were confirmed:

  • 56 imported cases of dengue,

  • 2 imported cases of chikungunya,

  • 0 imported cases of Zika.
